NOTD: OPI DS Coronation w/Black konad

Hello! This is my mani for the day, the sun finally came out so I decided to try a holo.

I started to with three coats of OPI DS Coronation over a coat of Essie Matte About You. I had to do three coats because it was a little sheer and I could still see bald spots after two coats. But it’s so pretty and sparkly! I couldn’t stop looking at my nails in the sunlight!

I used Essie MAY as my base because I don’t have a holo base and I’d read matte top coats work well for holos. I don’t really know whether it worked or not. I had chips on 3 or 4 nails after a few hours. But, right after doing my nails I baked cupcakes and washed dishes which I never do, so I’m not sure if that had something to do with it and I didn’t let them dry for long enough.

Anyway, because I was going to konad over it, it didn’t bother me too much. I stamped a design on plate m64 with black polish.m

The holo was more obvious in person but maybe it wasn’t sunny enough for it to show up in pictures. I really liked how this turned out even though I didn’t realize until after that the stamp on my index finger was on the wrong side! šŸ˜€
