NOTD: OPI DS Coronation w/Black konad

Hello! This is my mani for the day, the sun finally came out so I decided to try a holo.

I started to with three coats of OPI DS Coronation over a coat of Essie Matte About You. I had to do three coats because it was a little sheer and I could still see bald spots after two coats. But it’s so pretty and sparkly! I couldn’t stop looking at my nails in the sunlight!

I used Essie MAY as my base because I don’t have a holo base and I’d read matte top coats work well for holos. I don’t really know whether it worked or not. I had chips on 3 or 4 nails after a few hours. But, right after doing my nails I baked cupcakes and washed dishes which I never do, so I’m not sure if that had something to do with it and I didn’t let them dry for long enough.

Anyway, because I was going to konad over it, it didn’t bother me too much. I stamped a design on plate m64 with black polish.m

The holo was more obvious in person but maybe it wasn’t sunny enough for it to show up in pictures. I really liked how this turned out even though I didn’t realize until after that the stamp on my index finger was on the wrong side! 😀

NOTD: Zoya Caitlin w/Navy Shatter

I’ve been trying to use some of my untrieds and I’ve had Caitlin since Zoya had that whole collection on sale.

Here is two coats of Zoya Caitlin:

It’s a blue grayish purple, I think is lovely!

And I’ve playing with shatter/crackles lately, so I added a coat of OPI Navy Shatter:

Navy shatter applied well, so far I like it most of all my OPI shatters!
I like the combination, I think when I wear this shatters I prefer to do it over colors that are similar or in the same color family, instead of really contrasting color. They look subtler that way and I guess I like that look more! 😀

Essie Smooth Sailing and why I love it so much…

I got Smooth Sailing and a few others a while ago at Rite Aid, when they were having their sale on Essies. I remember the cashier said, wow that must be good polish! (in a nice way) when I dumped the handful of polishes on the counter. And I said YES!! They are awesome! Ok, I didn’t say it like that but I was thinking it! I really love my Essies, they last forever on me and haven’t had any problems with any of them so far.

Anyway, this is Smooth Sailing, and it’s beautiful!!

See how pretty? With it’s lovely blue base color and the sparkly silver shimmer! So so pretty! I think it’s obvious that I’m in love with this color, it has quickly become one of my favorites, I think I’ll have to get a backup! 🙂
And I couldn’t choose a picture so there’s lots!

And a closer shot:

And even though I thought it couldn’t get any better, after a few days I added CND Sapphire Sparkle on top, and it turned into this!

(sorry about the tipwear, I’d been wearing this for a while!)

My pictures don’t really show how sparkly and beautiful this turned out, it flashed purple, blue and silver 😀

I loved this combination!

Anyway, I’m really glad I picked this one up and I enjoyed wearing it so much!

OPI Planks a Lot with Milani Purple Gleam

Hello! I’m back from my wedding/honeymoon/house-buying and everything else! 😀

This is OPI Planks a Lot from their new POTC collection:

Pretty dusty purple!

And I added some lines using tape and Milani Purple Gleam:

First time I tried something like this, it’s not perfect but I’m ok with it, my SV started bubbling though, not sure why.
